All a Twitter

Twitter, Inc.
In all this learning about blogging stuff and promoting my blog, etc, I revived my old Twitter account. It was created a few years ago for some reason I can't remember now. To be honest, I didn't really use it before and didn't really understand the need for it.

So I did some searching and came across an older post by ProBlogger on how to use Twitter with some good info in it. Following his advice, I've come up with this:

My Blogging Objectives for Twitter:

  • Drive traffic to my blog (naturally, but somewhat of an issue since I have all of 7 followers as of this posting)
  • Use it to network with other bloggers within my niche (those being running, marathon training, dogs, Canicross, CrossFit, Paleo/Primal lifestyle)
  • To use it for inspiration for my blog

Now I have to figure out how to use it. I'm following a load of people already and finding more all the time. I've Tweeted and Retweeted by pushing a button, but never typed my own Tweet, replied to a Tweet or put anyone else's @so-and-so or #this-thing yet. I'm almost embarrassed to say I find it a bit intimidating, there are so many pro-looking Tweeters out there!

So there you have it, my introverted self finds these kinds of things intimating!

Any tips from Tweeters out there?
Do you use Twitter? If you do, what for?

  1. I just recently signed up for Twitter too after avoiding it for quite some time! What's your handle? I'll follow!! I don't know what I'm doing either!

    1. It's @jorunswithdogs. There's so much activity from the people I'm following, some are posting several times an hour! I can't see myself getting like that, way to many other things to do than Tweet all day.

  2. I feel the exact same way. I want so badly to get better at Twitter but I feel like it takes a lot of time. I was thinking of putting together a post eventually of things I have learned from twitter and suggestions...Once I have more time to spend on it though, I really hope to become a more consistent tweeter! :)

    1. I'm finding it time consuming too. Maybe its because I'm not really sure what I'm doing. :) So much to read on there!
